Fall Better

Short (2022)

Owusu is learning to walk again. Recovering from a debilitating illness, he struggles to trust his body to respond. But rebuilding strength isn’t just about muscles—it’s about embracing failure, falling, and confronting vulnerabilities to grow stronger.

Through the very language of film, Fall Better captures the physical and mental challenges of slow recovery. A deeply personal story, it is inspired by writer-director George Magner’s own experience of overcoming a life-changing neurological illness.

Currently on the festival circuit, Fall Better has been selected for prestigious events, including the BAFTA-qualifying Manchester Film Festival, the BIFA-qualifying Kino Short Film Festival in London, the Phoenix Film Festival in the US, and the Independent Days Film Festival in Germany.
